PERISTIWA HUJAN ASAM DALAM ISTILAH BERBAHASA INGGRIS: KEGIATAN PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT BERBASIS LINGKUNGAN

Abstract: One of the problems faced by urban communities is acid rain. This
phenomenon occurs because of the high level of environmental damage that
has occurred in an area. Community service activities are an effort that can
be done to provide socialization related to acid rain. The purpose of this
activity is to empower students' knowledge related to the term acid rain in
English. The implementation method used is to use the seminar method which
is carried out online. The results of this community service activity are that
the seminar is able to empower students' knowledge. This result was obtained
with evidence that there was an increase in pre-test and post-test scores. The
conclusion of this community service activity is that the seminar on acid rain
in English can improve students' knowledge.

Abstrak: Salah satu masalah yang dihadapi oleh Masyarakat di perkotaan
adalah hujan asam. Fenomena ini terjadi karena sudah tinggi nya kerusakan
lingkungan yang terjadi di sebuah wilayah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada
Masyarakat adalah sebuah upaya yang bisa dilakukan untuk memberikan
sosialisasi terkait dengan hujan asam. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk
memberdayakan pengetahuan siswa terkait dengan istilah hujan asam dalam
Bahasa inggris. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan adalah dengan
menggunakan metode seminar yang dilakukan secara daring. Hasil dari
kegiatan pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah bahwa dengan seminar
mampu memberdayakan pengetahuan siswa. Hasil ini diperoleh dengan bukti
bahwa terjadi peningkatan skor pre-test dan post-test. Kesimpulan dari
kegiatan pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah bahwa dengan seminar
mengenai hujan asam dalam Bahasa inggris dapat meningkatkan
pengetahuan siswa.
