IMPLEMENATASI KURIKULUM MERDEKA TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIKA

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dan mengkaji pengaruhnya terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika siswa di SMP Negeri 2 Nanga Pinoh. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Data di kumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan tes pemahaman konsep. Instrumen tes terdiri dari lima soal uraian yang disusun berdasarkan indikator pemahaman konsep. Keabsahan data diperoleh melalui triangulasi teknik, sementara validitas instrumen diuji pada kelas VIII G sebelum digunakan pada kelas VIII E. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan Kurikulum merdeka di kelas VIII E berjalan efektif dan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa. Nilai rata-rata tes sebesar 90,85% berada pada kategori sangat baik, dengan capaian tinggi pada indikator pemahaman konsep dasar dan aplikasi dalam konteks kehidupan nyata. Observasi dan wawancara memperlihatkan bahwa guru menerapkan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi, kontekstual, serta berpusat pada siswa, sehingga membuat pembelajaran lebih menarik dan mudah dipahami. Secara keseluruhan, Kurikulum Merdeka terbukti mendukung peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematika melalui pembelajaran yang fleksibel dan bermakna.

Abstract : This study aims to describe the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and its influence on students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics at SMP Negeri 2 Nanga Pinoh. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, using interviews, classroom observations, and a conceptual understanding test as data collection techniques. The test instrument consisted of five open-ended questions developed based on established indicators of conceptual understanding. Data credibility was ensured through technique triangulation, while instrument validity was examined in class VIII G prior to its use in class VIII E.The findings indicate that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in class VIII E was effective and contributed positively to students’ mathematical conceptual understanding. The average test score reached 90.85%, categorized as very good, with particularly strong performance on basic concept comprehension and real-life application indicators. Observations and interviews revealed that the teacher applied differentiated, contextual, and student- centered learning strategies, which made the learning process more engaging and accessible for students. Overall, the Merdeka Curriculum was proven to enhance students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics through flexible and meaningful learning experiences.
