Pendekatan Metode Montessori sebagai Upaya Meningkatkan Kemandirian Anak Usia Dini

Masih rendahnya tingkat kemandirian anak usia dini di berbagai lembaga PAUD di Indonesia menjadi perhatian serius dalam pengembangan metode pembelajaran yang tepat. Kemandirian merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan anak, yang dapat memengaruhi kemampuan mereka dalam menghadapi tantangan di masa depan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara teoritis peran metode Montessori dalam pembentukan sikap mandiri pada anak usia dini melalui pendekatan studi literatur. Analisis dilakukan dengan pendekatan tematik dan sintesis naratif terhadap berbagai sumber ilmiah, termasuk buku, artikel jurnal, dan hasil penelitian yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa metode Montessori, dengan prinsip kebebasan dalam batasan dan lingkungan belajar yang disiapkan secara khusus, dapat meningkatkan kemandirian anak. Beberapa studi empiris mendukung temuan ini, seperti penelitian oleh Damayanti (2019) yang menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemandirian anak setelah penerapan metode Montessori di Bright Star Makassar School Namun, beberapa literatur juga mengkritisi keterbatasan metode ini, seperti kebutuhan akan pelatihan guru yang intensif dan adaptasi kurikulum yang sesuai dengan konteks lokal Dengan demikian, metode Montessori memiliki potensi dalam membentuk kemandirian anak usia dini, namun implementasinya memerlukan pertimbangan kontekstual dan dukungan yang memadai.
